EL CORREO - A boutique Hotel in Heliopolis
The silence that hangs between the whitewashed houses in the neighborhood of Heliopolis is broken
only by the sound of a water source. Then the walker is located in the front with avant-garde forms
of the pergolas that mark the entrance of Hotel Holos. Wood, metal, rock, and glass intertwine in
unexpected shapes and corners in the careful design of Hotel Holos, a space that goes beyond the
classical concept of a hotel and offers the customer a new product in Seville: the boutique hotel.
When Carmen Ortega and her husband Peter Porta decided to turn her dream into a reality, the main
lines of her personal project became clear: a hotel that offers an intimate setting, away from the
conventional and even a design that can be enjoyed and appreciated by the customer. Many people who
stop at the door attracted to Holos simply because it shares the architectural facade with the
houses of Heliopolis. This, not coincidentally, it is the result of the renowned architecture
studio MGM Seville (Morales-Giles) and Carmen Ortega's personal touch with the decorations. With
respect to the architectural design it was constructed after many difficulties to "go ahead" with
restoration of the house according to architect Sara de Giles. After playing with different models
to construct the folding structure of the pergola surrounding the hotel, finally one was chosen.
The atlernation of light and shade provided by the sun that bathes the Heliopolis district
completes the work. The decorations and the sensations during a Holos stay are designed based on
fresh flowers and citrus combined with modern furnishings. Holos seeks to motivate, encourages
calmness, relaxation, and comfort. "This is an innovative concept in Sevilla, further endorsed by
the fact that this hotel only has seven rooms, bringing the treatment closer than ever " says the
director of Holos while sipping tea flowers on the patio.
